Sunlight.

I have seen the Light in you
It’s incandescent
It’s unquenchable
So when your darkness rises
Like a full moon of ill-begotten omens
I understand
That a Light as vast as yours
Must cast such a shadow

Shadows rely on the Light from whence they came
They can be nothing without it
And the Light, O, the Light is an astounding vibrance
I peer greedily into it
Binding myself to its colour

Your eye is made of glass
Moulded to the shape of your orbit
You’ve half the sight of most on Earth
And yet you pierce through me
Like I am nothing

I dare you
Look at me again
And you’ll see paradise
In the reflection of my eyes
